Overview
POSCO‑MKPC Sdn Bhd is a strategic joint venture between POSCO, a global leader in the steel industry, and PRESTAR RESOURCES BERHAD, a public company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia. The acronym MKPC stands for Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Processing Centre.
POSCO‑MKPC was incorporated on 5 January 1996 with the mission of penetrating Malaysia’s steel processing market. POSCO initially acquired a 30% equity interest in 2002 and increased its holding to 70% in 2008, becoming the company’s majority shareholder.
MKPC’s mandate is to develop and expand Malaysia’s steel processing capabilities. Our manufacturing facilities are equipped with state‑of‑the‑art machinery and production systems to ensure consistent quality and reliable delivery. We supply processed steel products to a broad spectrum of sectors, including high‑end automotive, electrical and electronics, construction, and general manufacturing.
